17 October 2021 I have just added my new 2022 Shetland calendar and new jigsaws and mugs to the Shetland Arts & Crafts Association Marketplace, where you'll find a superb range of high quality arts and crafts gifts from Shetland. You'll also find my products on Isle20, where you'll find a wide range of small businesses from the Scottish islands, including Shetland. It's also possible to purchase a very wide range of photographic prints, including mounted, directly on this website - head to the "Galleries" tab, above.

14 October 2021 I'm very happy to say that I received an honorable mention in the International Photography Awards - ipa, otherwise known as the Lucie Awards. Contemporary Shetland knitwear designer Nielanell commissioned me to photograph her new clothing and accesories ranges and this is one of the final images that their fantastic creative team helped make possible.

30 September 2021 I was absolutely thrilled to have won the Scottish Wildlife Portrait category in the Scottish Nature Photography Awards Photographic Competition with my photo of a Bearded Seal that visited in autumn 2019. 30 March 2021 I am absolutely thrilled to have won the Scottish Wildlife Portrait category in the Scottish Nature Photography Awards Photographic Competition! This bearded seal visited in autumn 2019. I've entered lots of competitions over the years, won a few minor ones and been commended in some major competitions but this is the first time I've won a category in such a prestigious national competition. Hats off to the other category winners with some absolutely fantastic photography and especially the overall Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2020, Charles Everitt with his shot "Taking Root". 10 November 2018 It's not long until the Shetland Arts and Crafts Association Annual Craft Fair!  View the Craft Fair guide online, or download it here to find out who's at this years Craft Fair. My final sales event after that will be Sandwick Xmas Farmers & Craft Market 12-3 PM at the Sandwick Carnegie Hall.

On Saturday 8 December I shall be at the Moorfield Hotel in Brae to photograph children visiting Santa in his Winter Wonderland.


21 July 2018 I've added an update to the PhotoWild! workshops with full details of the Shetland Nature Festival photo workshop at Sumburgh Head on 28 July. This workshop will be perfect if you want to learn about camera controls then take photos of landscape, birds and around the lighthouse complex with me to help you along the way.

10 July 2018 Just a quick update on photo workshops! I'm pleased to announce that I've added another workshop to the programme as part of the Shetland Nature Festival on 28 July and another new workshop date on 12/13 October. I still have some limited availability, including on my special Wool Week Photos for social media courses in September (though both Wool Week photo safaris are fully booked. 14 February 2018 I now have photos from Up Helly Aa on 12 January online for viewing and am now planning for another busy year of events and projects. Please get in touch if you're tying the knot this year or next and would like to discuss your wedding photography with me. Also, if you have an event that you'd like me to photograph, either for yourself or, perhaps, for onward transmission to local or other media, I should be happy to discuss that too. Of course, don't hesitate to get in touch if you wish to purchase any picture, whether currently on my website or not, framed on canvas or in other presentations.

18 January 2018 I now have photos from the Scalloway Fire Festival on 12 January online for viewing and am looking forward to Up Helly-Aa in Lerwick in less than 2 weeks!. Of course this means the lighter nights are not far away and with that planning for another busy year of events and projects.
